No More Flood Survivors Refuge in Jakarta

The Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) announced that there were no more residents who were displaced due to flooding on Friday (10/7) at 3 PM.

Refugees in the affected areas have previously returned to their respective homes

So far, only five neighborhoods in West Jakarta are still inundated. This number is equivalent to 0.016 percent of the 30,470 neighborhoods in Jakarta.

Jakarta BPBD Executing Unit Head, Isnawa Adji said that the flooding had subsided gradually and the number of inundated areas was decreasing.

"Refugees in the affected areas have previously returned to their respective homes," he expressed.

His agency had alerted officers to monitor inundation in every area and keep coordinating with the Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Agency, Bina Marga Agency, and Fire and Rescue Agency (Gulkarmat) to suck up the flood together with the local urban village and sub-district heads.

"We try to recede it quickly," he stressed.

As quoted by BMKG's official website, rain with moderate to heavy intensity will occur in Jakarta from October 2 to 8, 2022.

Thereby, they called on the community to be more careful and be aware of potential inundation that occurs.

"Call 112 for an emergency, this is free and operates for 24 hours," he uttered.

b. Kebon Jeruk Urban Village

- Total: three neighborhoods

- Height: 40 centimeters

- Cause: high rainfall and overflow of Pesanggrahan River

c. Rawa Buaya Urban Village

- Total: one neighborhood

- Height: 40 - 50 centimeters

- Cause: high rainfall and overflow of Pesanggrahan River
